KNWLS Just Dropped The Alien Eyewear Of The Future
With all the buzz around AI, completely CGI social media influencers, and life on Mars a possibility within our lifetime, it’s safe to say that the future is now. For all the 21st-century guys and girls ready to embrace the limitless possibilities of technological advancement, a wardrobe to match is more than necessary. With that in mind, as part of their S/S 23 collection, South London-based brand KNWLS has once again teamed up with Andy Wolf to create a pair of out-of-this-world sunglasses.
Perfect for protecting against solar flares, the alien inspired shape is crafted in three bold colour ways. Inspired by planets in our solar system the oversized design is shaped in muted yellow, lavender and brown and is fitted with gradient lenses. Still, KNWLS is putting planet Earth's needs first by using only recycled acrylic to create these eco-conscious frames.
Accompanying the release is an equally otherworldly campaign by Thibaut Grevet. Reminiscent of the fashion photography that defined the 60s space age and the saturated images of Irving Penn (notably his 1995 Bee on Lips), the campaign is a series of hyperreal portraits. Equal parts X-Files and retro fashion shoot, Grevet's imagery is sure to inspire anyone on Earth to embrace alien aesthetics.
