Day 1: Sarah Shikama

Sarah Shikama is a designer and visual artist working across disciplines. After studying at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, she launched her own jewelry line, Shikama, in 2010. Shikama infuses her deep understanding of material and form into the jewelry, creating simple and sculptural pieces. Since starting her Instagram account, ‘She Comes In Technicolor’ - a digital mood board with a strong emphasis on fashion and design from the 1960-90s - Shikama has gained the attention of the fashion community. This year Shikama participated in New York fashion week, presenting her designs with Katie Gallagher’s S/S collection titled 'Chinatown’. Shikama is currently working on a custom piece for The Corner Store by stylist/creative director Stacey Nishimoto.
