Show Report: Ohne Titel A/W 16 Womenswear

Ohne Titel’s Alexa Adams and Flora Gill are knitting wizards. This is, by now, a well-established fact. They were there right at the start of the high-tech knit craze (it’s a thing!) and they have continued to not only evolve their techniques and refine their silhouettes but expand their label’s offerings too, slowly and steadily beyond just knitwear. Today they introduced new weaving techniques – a leather coat was woven but looked like print - and 3-D printing. The latter resulted in the most interesting part of the collection – the white cage finale dress looked like the most delicate of laces.

Despite the technical innovation and the plethora of great pieces that their customer will cherish, the show lacked energy and excitement - the palette of aubergine and black and white did not help lift the collection. That’s a shame as these two are fantastic colourists and their usual jolts of bright colour add another dimension to their knits but not today. The fit of the taffeta wide trousers they showed was questionable and the feather embroidery on a sheer skirt seemed like an afterthought. A grey print dress edged with black ruffles was pretty and a metallic ribbed dress over neoprene thigh-high boots was fantastic.
