Live Review Round-Up: London S/S 21 Womenswear

by SHOWstudio on 25 September 2020

Rounding up a digital season of S/S 21 shows in London, Calum Knight and Hetty Mahlich discuss how successfully designers are navigating fashion film and alternate formats for presenting collections, also explaining how creating a fashion film differs from putting on a runway show.

From Halpern's maximalist ode to front line workers and Bianca Saunders' enchanting video portrait of alternate masculinities, to Burberry's pre-filmed performance and Paria / FARZANEH's IRL show in a field, the pair discuss the highlights of the season. Whilst Art School laid out a new brand vision, designers Simone Rocha, Robyn Lynch, Bethany Williams and Molly Goddard successfully took the opportunity to refine their aesthetics. Meanwhile Victoria Beckham and Vivienne Westwood were the brands who missed the mark.
