Haider Ackermann

Fashion Designer

Haider Ackermann is a Colombian fashion designer, born in Santa Fe de Bogota in 1971. Ackermann presented his first women's collection during Paris Fashion Week in 2002 for Autumn/Winter. He was awarded a Swiss Textile Award in 2004.

Ackermann moved to Belgium in 1994 to study at the fashion department of the Royal Academy of Antwerp. Interning at John Galliano, Bernhard Willhelm and Patrick Van Ommeslaeghe, Ackermann has since headed up prominent design houses including Dior, Martin Margiela and Berluti. In 2011, he was selected as a guest designer at the Pitti Immagine showcase where he presented his first menswear collection.

In 2005, Ackermann signed to Belgian group BVBA 32, gaining financial backing for his label. The group split Ackermann’s business into a separate entity in 2013 in recognition of the label’s growing prominence. In May 2018, Ackermann announced that he would turn to co-ed shows starting with his Spring/Summer 2019 collection.
