Conversation: C.P. Company's Legacy in The North of England

published on 23 September 2021

In partnership with C.P. Company, SHOWstudio is proud to present a conversation about the iconic Italian sportswear brand on their 50th anniversary in Shoreditch, London. Founded in 1971 by Massimo Osti, the brand's functional, military-inspired outerwear and goggle jackets are popular today with British rappers including Rejjie Snow, Slowthai and Skepta.

David Hellqvist is joined by guests Lorenzo Osti (president of C.P. Company), Gary Aspden (designer and curator of adidas Spezial), Andrew Groves (director of the Westminster Menswear Archive) and Neil Munn (C.P. Company collector) to discuss the emotional connection customers have with the clothes, the brand's cultural relevance, and the enduring popularity of C.P. in the north of England. 'The reality is that C.P. Company is a complex brand,' says Osti. 'Different people see different things in it.'
